youth - Aging a whitetail doe

aging a white-tailed doe for youth and beginner hunters

Most hunters have made the mistake before between a doe versus a button buck. Make sure you take the right one out of the herd. Going after a white-tailed buck is much easier to identify because they have antlers. However, for a beginner or youth hunter, it can be difficult to learn the proper traits to identify a mature doe.

Watch as Haley Heath and her son Gunner identify between a yearling, a mature doe and a button buck. Acquire the basics to an ethical kill to continue a prosperous hunting season for all hunters. Good luck aging your does and happy hunting!
