Bow Hunting

Any bow hunter will tell you that bow hunting is difficult, yet rewarding. Many hunters choose this method for different reasons - bow season is longer, they are quieter, bows can help improve your shooting skills or just simple preference. What ever your reason may be, we've got the how-to knowledge to help you get started and to keep you improving.

THE INS AND OUTS OF CHOOSING YOUR FIRST CROSSBOW Crossbows are sort of an enigma. Despite the fact that they launch a very short arrow they still aren’t considered a bow. And, just because they are held and fired like a gun doesn’t exactly mean they are considered a firearm. And therein lies the debate. Hunters have voiced their opinions on which “category” this weapon should fall under for years.

GO FOR THE GOLD: YOUTH ARCHERY GAMES Since the 2016 Rio Olympics, we’ve seen some extra motivation for kids and adults wanting to practice their shooting and archery techniques. Ginny Thrasher and Kim Rhode were a big enough inspiration for anyone, hunter or not, to try out their skills in shooting or archery. What better way to teach well-rounded sportsmanship while working on accuracy, than a fun archery game.

BUCK KNIVES' NEW BOW TOOL AND BOW TRX Bow hunters have a long list of items that they must carry with them each time they head afield, from releases and knives to extra clothing, tags and licenses and rangefinders. But one item that absolutely no archer should be without is a tool to safely adjust their bow in the field. Any experienced archery hunter will tell you that a bow malfunction means a wasted day unless you have the right repair equipment on hand.
